DAY 1

0800hrs - Pick up from hotel in Kota Kinabalu, then head out on a 3 hour journey overland to Kudat which is also known as the “Tip of Borneo”. The journey will bring you through scenic countryside, paddy fields, villages, palm oil plantations; local stalls selling handicrafts and food items. Along the way, make a brief pit stop at a location packed with locally made snack stalls to get some munchies. Proceed on for a friendly visit to the modern long house village at Sikuati, a great opportunity to mingle with the local Rungus settlers from the village.

 

1130hrs - Be greeted by the breeze at the Northern Tip of Borneo, also known as Tanjung Simpang Mengayau which means ‘lingering junction’ as it is here that the South China Sea lingers and meets the Sulu seas flowing from the East. After a short walk from the entrance you will arrive at the wondrous landmark, a place where you can take memorable photos & videos.

 

1300hrs - Thereafter proceed to the Bavanggazo Village for a longhouse visit. Built entirely using raw materials found locally, it is home to the Rungus community, a sub-tribe of the indigenous Kadazandusun. Observe their very own unique bead works, lifestyle and costumes. Lunch will be served Rungus style. (Traditional Native Lunch)

 

1400hrs - Depart for the “Gong” making village, Kampung Sumangkap. Well known for local artisans and their exceptional skills of crafting musical instruments rich with history and meaning.

 

1430hrs - Moving forward to the sweet sticky business of bees at the Gombizau Honey Bee Farm. Get a feel of what actually goes down at the honey farm and of course, a taste of raw honey straight from the comb!

 

1500hrs - Transfer to your acommodation. (Free and easy activity, optional activities are available at the home-stay upon request and is chargeable)

 

1730hrs - Head out to the Tip of Borneo, Simpang Mengayau for sunset viewing. The view of the sunset from Simpang Mengayau has said to be on of the most beautiful and serene among all local seaside attractions in Sabah.

 

1845hrs - Transfer to a local restaurant, Kampung Kelapa Restaurant which is said to be one of the best local restaurant in Kudat.  

 

2000hrs - Return back to the accomodation for overnight stay.

 

DAY 2      

0800hrs - Wake up to the sound of the sea, it’s warm breeze and a beautiful sunrise. Local breakfast will be served and you would have some free leisure time before your early check out and diving activity begin.

 

0900hrs - Check out and proceed to the dive centre. You will be meeting your diving instructor and be given the basics and safety briefing. There will be two dives in total, one surface dive and one sea dive. (For leisure diving, you may opt to choose two dive sites or request the instructor to do so).

 

1230hrs - After the instrctor has briefed and taught you the basics for diving, your first dive will start from the surface where you will walk from the shoreline into the sea and dive at a beginners’ depth of 3-5 metres. After first dive, head back to the dive centre for lunch and some rest.

 

1400hrs - Head out for your second dive on another chosen site. On this dive you will head out by boat to a chosen location and jump into the sea to dive within a depth of 15-18 metres (instructor will take you deeper depending on your body’s condition underwater). Once Second dive has been completed, you will head back to the centre to freshen up and change clothers.

 

1530hrs - Head back to Kota Kinabalu. Along the way you may stop by at the locally made snacks stalls by the roadside to buy some for the road. Estimated journey is about 2 hours 30 minutes to 3 hours (Depending on traffic condition)
